As any “mojo” at Reuters will tell you: the Nokia N95 kit lets one reporter do several things quickly, and well.
Video, audio, still photographs, writing, Web publishing … can this thing do anything else (like make phone calls)?
Gear geeks Technology enthusiasts like myself enjoy seeing products with good features — that way I don’t have to equip holsters to carry my mobile electronics.
The N95 had some positive feedback and Reuters put its mojos to good use with video of former New Mexico governor Bill Richardson on his (now ended) presidential campaign. I know the video isn’t perfect, but keep in mind it came from something you can fit into a pocket.
Digital photos taken with the N95 are simply stunning.
With all these features, the N95 is not without its faults. Several people have said the phone feels too “plastic-y.”
Well it looks like Nokia was listening because their newly unveiled N96. The things got 16G of internal memory with an expandable SD slot for up to 24G of space.
Moreover the design is more in line with other smartphones like Apple’s popular iPhone. First impressions of the N96 peg it as a mild upgrade in technology over the N95 with more of an upgrade to style and design.
I’d be interested in trying one out (read: I’ll gladly review one if I get to play with it for a few weeks!) and see how it compares to my current setup of having to carry around a digital camera, notepad, laptop and hope there’s a wireless connection lying around somewhere.
